Membership and contributing
An Athena account is free. The tools are not for sale; contributions help with the electricity and hardware of a small home server, and supporters get extra rights as a thank-you.

Frequently asked
Is membership paid?
No. Membership is free and needs no e-mail. You can contribute if you wish; it is voluntary support, not a purchase.
What happens if I contribute?
Each coffee gives 30 days of the Friend tier; 5 or more at once make you a Patron (at most 365 days). Your quota, API access, queue priority and the right to create organizations grow. Put your username in the contribution note; the rights are added to your account by hand.
Can I use it as a guest?
Yes: up to 5,000 characters a day, with no history kept.
What if I forget my password?
We do not keep e-mail addresses, so password reset is not automatic. We recommend storing your password in a password manager.
