Short and plain: what we keep and why.

Account

Username, a salted scrypt password hash, tier and (if you create one) an API key. We do not ask for an e-mail address, phone number or real name.

Guests

To count the daily quota we use a daily-rotating hash derived from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored. Text is not saved; tasks are deleted within one hour.

Member data (Tilvar)

Your tasks, translation history, chats, glossary and translation memory are kept until you delete them and are visible only to you (or to the members of an organization you joined).

Cookies

Only a session cookie (tv) is used; theme and language preferences stay in your browser. There are no analytics or advertising trackers.

Third parties

Traffic passes through Cloudflare (CDN and security). Cloudflare Turnstile may be used on the sign-up form to stop bots. The translation model runs on our own server; your text is not sent to third-party services for translation. When translating websites, pages are fetched through the Tor network only.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from the account page. The account is removed immediately; your data in the tools is purged within about 20 minutes.
